Concert for Tibet

Letterfourie House, Banffshire, September 2007

The Loft, Forres, September 2008

Local folk/bluegrass band Moonshine Madness very generously agreed to put on a concert in aid of Tibet.  Entry was by donation of £5, and the musicians performed for free, all proceeds going to the GuChuSum project. The venue chosen was Letterfourie House in Banffshire, and again we're grateful to the owner for the free use of the chapel and grounds.

The concert raised around £300, which will support various projects in an around Dharamsala, the main Tibetan refugee centre in Northern India.

The success of the Letterfourie concert  prompted a second concert in 2008, this time at The Loft bistro, Forres.  Playing a more comprehensive set to a near-capacity audience, the show was a great success.

" It is my belief that whereas the twentieth century has been a century of war and untold suffering, the twenty-first century should be one of peace and dialogue. As the continued advances in information technology make our world a truly global village, I believe there will come a time when war and armed conflict will be considered an outdated and obsolete method of settling differences among nations and communities." H.H. The Dalai Lama
